When was the first moment you decided you wanted to be an artist?

I always drew as a kid but the first time I knew I wanted and could make a living out of it was probably in High School. I was making comics and putting them online and following others at the time, and it hit me that I could do that too, make a living somehow and that was that. I stopped giving a care about my studies cus I knew what I wanted to do.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Wherever I can get it. There’s no right or wrong way, it just hits you when you least expect it or not at all and You got to work thru that anyway.

If you could work with another artist, who would it be? / who is your favorite artist?

It would be Anthony Clark and I am working with him on a project, BACK our alien western comic about the end of the world.

What has been the best moment in your career?

It’s hard to say now being only 28 and not having a lifetime of memories to look thru and pick one, but it was really cool when a cartoonist I admired, Michael Kupperman, followed me on twitter.

What is your ideal day?

When I am a little mad. Mad enough that my brain is overflowing with energy of being mad and it turns into good, weird writing and ideas and such. It’s great, I love that feeling. It doesn’t come often.

Who is your role model?

I never modeled my life after any one person. A bunch of people have been a bunch of inspiration to me. There is no just one for me, sorry.

If you could do anything, what would it be?

Make a video game w/ someone who will help me make the game.

Why do you create art?

Because it is my job and I’m pretty good at it, I think!

What art do you most identify with?

Anything that feels like it’s kind of rough and raw. That feels emotional and weird and screaming and scary.

How has your art changed throughout your life?

I’ve gotten cleaner with my work and begun to work digitally. I work fast and don’t matter much about originals and stuff like that. That’s not for me to worry about.

What is your dream project?

Probably a book of scary stories for kids.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

Don’t be too precious with your work. Keep drawing.
