JenySt Interview

Jeny's drawings first started out as paintings for her children's rooms and blossomed into an outlet for self-expression and self-discovery. Focusing on peaceful mandalas, Jeny has created a twist on the traditional art.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Inspiration is this tricky thing that comes and goes and I still haven’t been able to know exactly where it comes from for me. Sometimes it comes in moments of straggle, and the need to allow feelings to be expressed, but it also comes in moments of peace and joy. From nature, books, movies, music, simplicity, people, stories and even myself. It almost feel as if willingness and commitment is what is required.

What is your ideal day?

To wake up in the flow, connected, inspired and motivated. Than, Enjoy all of what is required of me for the day. Enjoy the morning by the beach with a nice hot coffee, birds passing by, seeing people enjoying life, than eat lunch with my love, create, dance a little, sing a little, and love a lot.

Who is your role model?

I don’t have one role model in specific, I like little bits of many. Mostly anybody who is brave enough to be curious about life, the explorers, the ones that express their individuality and see opportunities and solutions, the adventurist, the ones that choose to love, to inspire, and to live fully.

What is your dream project?

My dream project is the one I am on right now. Practicing mandala art started as a personal project, just for my own growth, my own healing, but I have slowly become more and more passionate and committed to continue this amazing beneficial type of art, so much that I just want to share it.  I don’t really know where mandalas are taking me but I would love to maybe someday open a studio or some type of workshop to teach others the magic of wonderful mandala art.

For what in life do you feel most grateful?

I am grateful for myself for reuniting with my creative side, for my husband, my amazing children, my coffee in the morning, the people that surrounds me, the trees, the flowers, the ocean, the sun, the moon, the air, the birds, I am just very grateful to be alive and be able to experience it all.

What's the single most important skill you've learned to be successful at creating art?

To experience life ;)
